Creative Director Chris McD produces each animated project and assembles a custom crew of talent for each, as needed. Your idea, scope, style, schedule, and budget are paramount considerations when we design a solution for you. We are proud to work on indie, commercial, big studio and network productions alike.
CHRIS MCD PRODUCTIONS will produce your animation project completely from start to finish or work with you on areas that you need completed. (Also see Visual Development for a focus on the preproduction phase of animation.)
Our animation work has played small and large parts of shows such as Yo Gabba Gabba, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Harley Quinn, Tour de Pharmacy, Portlandia, Lady Dynamite, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Kroll Show, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!, Ape Escape, Eagleheart, Comedy Bang Bang, Face's Music Party, and Paul T. Goldman on HBO, IFC, Netflix, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Adult Swim/Cartoon Network, Peacock, and FOX.
Animation work will generally cost four to five figures per minute of footage, and it is all about the details. Many direction and design choices can be made to fit your budget, so it is worth a conversation to explore what we can do together.

Grammy Award-winning artist, St. Vincent (Annie) and Bill (who does a bunch of her videos) needed a classic TV cartoon style music video animated for "The Melting of the Sun," the second single off of the record, Daddy’s Home.
Chris McD designed, animated, and composited this video based off an outline written by Annie Clark and Bill Benz. Green screen live action was shot by Kylie Hazzard and the video was produced by Loma Vista.
All Ages Productions needed a "Sendakian" illustrative animated style for this dreamlike music video scripted by Aldous Harding.
Chris McD worked directly with Aldous (Hannah) to take her storybook visions and translate them into this loose narrative animated piece. Light effects were completed by Harvey Benschoter.
Doubleday & Cartwright needed a Schoolhouse Rock-esque retro cartoon style for their client's music video commercial.
Chris McD took the provided soundtrack and storyboarded, designed, and animated this video in a 2D cartoon style reminiscent of children's educational television.
The director needed an animated parody educational film for the HBO feature film Tour de Pharmacy (2017). The soundtrack was supplied and Brian Wilcox provided storyboards and designs.
Chris McD produced the piece to completion, and handled lead animation and backgrounds. Assistance by Colton Barto.
Jonas & Co. needed a cheerful cartoon music video to accompany the provided recording of "You Are My Sunshine" with the sun as the conceptual throughline for their Nick Jr. series, Face's Music Party.
Chris McD wrote, storyboarded, designed, and animated this music sequence. Assistance by Hayden Caico.
The producers needed multiple animated characters, segments and techniques of animation for the two seasons of this Netflix comedy starring Maria Bamford.
Chris McD designed and animated the Trabajito, Loaf Coach, Sharks, Weather Rooster, and Acting Bug segments.
Blue Ribbon Content needed a funky logo identification piece animated to use at the end of various productions.
The very creative brief citing abstract experimental filmmakers among other things launched Chris McD into a multimedia exploration of clay, digital collage, drawn animation, live action, and stop-motion spaghetti. Chris also produced the soundtracks for each clip. The first clip was used, and several additional directions follow in this reel.
