Chris McD uses animation and cartooning experience to illustrate established brand mascot characters or design new ones for your project.
Boom Comics needed an alternate cover for Uncle Grandpa #1, and Chris illustrated this variant cover. Below, the Adventure Time illustrations are spec work, and the Bugs Bunny, Betty Boop, and Wizards pieces are self-initiated.

The creative agency PUNY needed a cartoon illustrator to work with them on a major project that they had with Nesquik and Chocapic brands. Chris McD illustrated existing characters like Quiky Bunny and Pico Dog on-model in new poses, and developed a system of new background art, props, and characters, some as posable puppets, to populate the interactive website that PUNY developed for each.
Chris McD wrote, illustrated, and designed the doodle book Sasquatch's Big Hairy Drawing Book which was published by Chronicle Books in 2011.

The animation industry news and commentary site Cartoon Brew hired Chris to illustrate a variety of projects over the years.

Bandai commissioned Chris to create illustrations for three possible designs for their Hyper Cluster line of yo-yos.

The publisher Rizzoli needed a section of Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture illustrated in a humorous style featuring cartoon sneakers. These quarter and half page spot illustrations were paired with tips on keeping your sneaker collection in top shape.

Chris McD was Program Director and Associate Professor of Animation at University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he took every opportunity to illustrate posters for student events and guest lectures. In turn, these became useful promotional material for the program which was thriving at the time of the University's abrupt closure in spring of 2024.

Chris McD wrote and illustrated these single panel comics about cats and dogs for a publisher pitch and then self-published them as a comics zine.
